JOGA FUTSAL MONTHLY NEWSLETTER โ OCTOBER 2025
๐ฐ
๐ International Tours โ One More Team Joins the Adventure!
Last month, we mentioned that we were working on one more international opportunityโฆ and weโre delighted to reveal it! ๐
Our Girls U16 team will be heading to Madrid this January to represent Joga Futsal and compete against top-level European opposition ๐ช๐ธโฝ
This is a huge moment for our club โ not only will it be an unforgettable experience for the players involved, but it also opens the door for even more girls to represent Joga internationally in the future. (And yes โ weโre already working on the next one ๐).
Preparations also continue for our 2014 squads heading to Barcelona and Madrid this winter, along with five Joga teams confirmed for the Venezia Futsal Cup in January 2026.
The next few months will see over 60 Joga players showcasing their skills on the world stage โ a true reflection of the progress Scottish futsal is making through our academy ๐๐
๐ First Team โ Flying Start to the Season!
October marked the start of our Scottish Super League campaign โ and what a start itโs been!
Our First Team kicked off with three huge home matches at the Ally McCoist Centre, producing outstanding performances full of energy, teamwork, and goals:
โฝ Joga 9โ3 Dalkeith Thistle โ A powerful statement to open the season.
โฝ Joga 5โ4 Aberdeen Futsal Academy โ A thrilling last-minute winner that had everyone on their feet!
โฝ Joga 4โ0 Edinburgh UNI โ A dominant and disciplined display to round off the month in style.
Thatโs three wins from three, and plenty of positives to build on. But the hard work continues โ November brings two tough fixtures against PYF Saltires and FC33, both strong sides who will test us again.
Thank you to everyone whoโs been cheering us on โ your support makes the difference every single week! ๐
๐ U16 National League โ Building the Future of Scottish Futsal
Our brand-new U16 National League is officially underway!
In partnership with Futsal Escocia, PYF Saltires, and Strathaven Dynamo, this new competition gives young players a fantastic platform to compete regularly and develop their futsal understanding at a higher level.
Our Joga U16s started their campaign with:
โ A brilliant away win over Strathaven Dynamo, showing composure and teamwork.
โ A tough defeat away to Futsal Escocia, providing valuable lessons to learn from.
The group continues to improve every week, and itโs clear the pathway from youth to senior futsal is stronger than ever.
๐
Next fixture dates will be confirmed soon โ stay tuned for updates and highlights!
๐ Online Futsal Coaching Clinics โ Learning from the Best
October also saw the launch of our brand-new Online Futsal Coaching Clinics, designed to help coaches of all levels learn from some of the best minds in the game.
Our first clinic was delivered by Hernรกn Garcรญas of Boca Juniors (Argentina) ๐ฆ๐ท โ a fantastic and insightful session filled with practical learning.
Next up, weโre thrilled to welcome Sergio Gargelli, Head Coach of the Finland National Futsal Team, who will deliver our second clinic in November ๐ซ๐ฎ.
These clinics are a brilliant opportunity for coaches to expand their futsal knowledge, share ideas, and continue growing the game we all love. ๐ง โฝ
๐ง Girls Academy โ Exciting Growth Ahead
November will see the launch of a number of new sessions, particularly within our Girls Academy, which is an area weโre passionate about growing and developing over the coming months.
Our goal is to create a clear pathway for girls to play, learn, and represent Joga โ both domestically and internationally. With the upcoming Girls U16 Madrid tour, itโs the perfect time to inspire the next generation of female futsal players ๐ช๐
๐ Joga Foundation โ Community at the Heart of What We Do
Our Frame Football sessions continue to go from strength to strength, with a brilliant group attending weekly sessions. The players even hosted their very own Halloween party this month โ and it was a huge success! ๐โฝ
Weโve also restarted our community school sessions at Hampden Primary School in Glasgow โ a fantastic school that supports children with complex learning difficulties. These sessions have already brought plenty of smiles and positive energy to pupils and staff alike.
The Foundation has also submitted new funding applications to help us expand our community work, with the aim of creating more opportunities for children and adults with Additional Support Needs and other groups across our local area.
This is a huge step forward in ensuring futsal is for everyone, and weโre excited to continue growing this important part of the Joga family. ๐
๐ฎ Looking Ahead to 2026 โ Bigger Dreams, Bigger Stages
Weโre already working on some exciting plans for 2026, with several international tournaments across Europe โ and even the potential of a tour further afield ๐โ๏ธ
Weโre also exploring the idea of hosting our own tournament in 2026, while actively working on plans to host an international group here in Scotland as part of a Scotland Tour.
These projects highlight our continued ambition to develop world-class futsal experiences both at home and abroad โ and to give every Joga player the chance to dream big. ๐ซ
